Take Ownership Of What You Are Good At

Just yesterday, I had another beautiful realisation and reminder.

It is something I am completely, already aware of, and yesterday was like the icing on the cake. It made me say to myself..

YES! This is so true and I need to remind my incredible tribe

Yesterday I was talking to one of the other members at the gym. It was just chit chat, but I could see something was bothering her. I could see she needed to talk. So much to the point she began tearing up. At that point, I could have just said, ‘go home and rest up, you look like you need it’  I am not going to lie, the thought of encouraging her to just take it easy and go home did cross my mind. But then something came over me. My heart spoke to me and said ‘Alissa, this is what you do. You have a gift of helping people. It is your purpose in life, use it now you silly human!’

So I listened. I asked her if she would like to talk, and I let her know I was more then happy to take the time to do that. With gratitude and tears in her eyes she nodded. I then spent the next 40 minutes talking to her, listening to her. We got to the bottom of her upset.

After the 40 minutes, she was a different person. Her posture straightened up, she had a smile from ear to ear and her voice became certain. She then said to me, ‘Thank you so much Ali, I feel SO much better!’

Then it made me realise, every single one of us has a gift and something magical to offer this world, and we need to take ownership of that!

We are all individuals, with a gift. A gift no one else walking this planet has and NEVER will have! Yes, that’s right. Your gift and your purpose in this world are all yours baby! And no one else can take them away from you or even try to mimic you (even if they do, they will never be as good as you are at being you)

It made me realise that sometimes we can be our own worst critic. We let our inner mean girl, our beliefs and our sabotaging ways take control, leaving us with no confidence to be who we are and share our gift to the world. Because of that, we are robbing the world of our greatness. This world needs it! This world needs YOUR gift to make a difference, to make a change.

You were put on this planet to execute your gift to others. Do not let it go to waste. You are way too special to allow that to happen.

Action step for this week

Action Step 1: I want you to get REALLY crystal clear on what your good at, What is your purpose? What is your passion? What are your unique gifts and talents that only YOU can offer. What are the things that truly light you up and feed your soul.

If you need to spend time on your own to do this exercise, then do that! Take yourself somewhere relaxing with your journal, and start getting clear. Listen to what your heart is telling you. You already know deep down what your gifts are, and what you can offer this world.

Action Step 2: Once you have become crystal clear, I want you to start using your talents gorgeous! Challenge yourself to pick at least 10 scenarios over the next week, where you can really STOP, and say to yourself ‘now is the time to implement what I am good at and make a positive difference’

There is NOTHING more rewarding then seeing the positive impact you have left, or change you have made in someone’s life, at work, at the bus stop, anywhere! Giving yourself permission to embrace your uniqueness, is the best gift you can give to the world. Now go and make a difference and let me know how you go with it!

Share the love!

If you feel someone else really needs to hear this today, if you know that someone is not allowing their talents and gifts to truly make a difference, then share this with them.  It may just make their day.

If you know that you aren’t embracing you, then take this as a gentle reminder to get out there today and start kicking some butt! 😉

I would love for you to share with me in the comments below, is this something you struggle with? What is stopping you from noticing what you are good at and using it to help others?

Love Alissa xx
